- Yarn: Cotton or acrylic yarn in gray, orange, blue, and detail colors (fingering or sport weight)
- Hook: 3.5 mm

  • Others: Fiberfill stuffing, tapestry needle, stitch markers

Ventral Fin

Tail Fin (Make 2)
Sc 3, flip, sc 3, flip, dec, sc, flip, dec. Fasten off.

Can Body (Orange)
Ch 24, turn, hdc in 3rd ch from hook and across (22 sts)
Work 18 rows in hdc back and forth
Sc around the edge with 3 sc in each corner
Then: Work 3 rounds of sc in the round

Can Lid (Blue)
Ch 23, hdc in 3rd ch from hook and across (22 sts)
Work 9 rows of hdc
Sew inner edge to the can body using sl st

Can Roll Edge
Sc 8 until length fits top can edge, sew or glue in place

Feet (Make 2)
R1: Ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook, 4 sc, 3 sc in last st. Continue on opposite side: 3 sc, inc (12)
R2: inc, 3 sc, 3 inc, 3 sc, 2 inc (18)

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Finishing Instructions
- Sew all fins to body using matching yarn.
- Stuff sardines lightly.
- Attach sardines and feet securely inside can.
- Stretch and shape the lid and edge to resemble an opened tin can.
- Weave in all ends.
